Aesop

Poetry & Prose    Books / People

Aesop was a Greek slave (c. 620–564 BCE). Many of the 200+ fables attributed to him may not have been his own, but since his name is synonymous with fables they were credited to him anyway. Sentenced to death for heresy, he was thrown off of a cliff top.
